I am trying to download music from my Nexus 5 to my xbox 360 I plug the usb cord into both my phone and Xbox 360 and it wouldn't pick up the device and I couldn't find the setting to change USB Music Transfer either

On the phone, try Settings -> Storage -> 3-dot Menu Button -> USB Computer Connection. Switch it to "PTP Mode" and see if that works.
